To be really honest, if I only lived in the US and somehow was making a very large salary compared to those of CEOs, I wouldv'e bought like 150,000 copies of TOTGA at that time. In that way, Katy could've reached #1 even just for a week and was able to break MJ's record I'm really serious, I am willing to do that.
Does anybody find that ridiculous?

Bill Gates' grandchildren or any business tycoon's teen daughters, sons out there should be Katy stans like us
Not just an ordinary stan, but a diehard stan that is willing to spend his own money in order to help break those records and get those sales.

Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" stays at No. 4 with top Airplay Gainer honors. "Awake" lifts 7-5 on Hot 100 Airplay (87 million, up 22%), while swelling its totals on Hot Digital Songs (2-2; 210,000, up 2%) and On-Demand Songs (9-9; 557,000, up 4%), all in the wake of her 3-D documentary/concert film "Katy Perry: Part of Me," which premiered July 5 and pulled in $7.1 million in box office receipts in its opening weekend.
