\Lykke Li wants you to take her seriously as a singer-songwriter rather than a pop star on this new album, implying that there is something wrong with being a pop star. Unfortunately for her, the thing about sad-dudes-with-guitars music is that it’s boring and so is this. We get it; you’ve repeated the title to this song several times throughout but maybe if you want us to love you like you’re not made of stone, act like you have a personality that isn’t as boring as rocks.

Then sing like it. God, Wounded Rhymes was one of my favorite albums of 2011, and I’m even willing to accept that Lykke Li’s new album might be, oh, the Dynamite to Youth Novels‘ Memories of a Colour, but this is the exact worst possible intersection of “I don’t want to be a pop star” and “produced by Greg Kurstin.”

On Wounded Rhymes, the combination of weathered production aesthetic and straining vocals was a big part of making the emotions of Lykke Li’s songs hit deep. Those songs were strong and hooky enough to have appealed regardless, though, and not just the one turned into a Europe-conquering dance smash. “Love Me Like I’m Not Made of Stone” hardens the grim aesthetic at the expense of the song, with dull results — all wound and no rhyme.

No. The mainstream media has picked up this story (and the term 'ARTFLOP'). This isn't a fomo-only matter like Bionic and Lotus were.

Some stans are celebrating their singles reaching new and exciting positions on iTunes, landing magazine covers and being named one of the most influential people in the world.

It's kind of funny seeing what happens on the other side of the tracks. Celebrating how well publicised your fave has faded into irrelevancy is NOT a good thing. It's only tarnishing her rep

You guys can say everybody is flopping on the daily basis, but this is the first instance (in my experience) where it's so publicized (due to how big she was/is).

I watched an episode of 2 Broke Girls recently where they basically said her last album flopped.

There was also a huge article in the Metro (?) or some other big UK Newspaper when Applause flopped calling her the loser and Katy the winner. I think it was posted on here lol.

And let's not forget the numerous celebs practically saying she's faded or over - Ne-Yo, Simon Cowell, Noel Gallagher, that girl who sings Murder On The Dancefloor etc.

I kind of "stan" for Sarah Polley. Take This Waltz isn't as good as Away From Her but still worth watching. And who can forget the ICONIC opening sequence of Dawn of the Dead? I'm still a little bitter that she turned down the Kate Hudson role in Almost Famous.

Yea but that role ultimately ruined her career! And yes, the opening of DOTD was literally ICONIC.

Sad the rest of the movie kinda dragged on.
