Why would anyone expect it to? The VMAs didn't give Applause a massive boost, why would the AMAs do it for DWUW?

Because if it was that well-received, you would be seeing a bigger boost than what you're currently seeing. Yeah, a 2-3 spot jump up the chart and the fact that it's not falling out of the top 20 means that it was well-received. Seriously? There were bigger boosts of the night, so I'm not even understanding your point, and I won't even bother to go deep into it.
