Yes, it is about Scooter and, really, the music industry in general. Jason confirmed this all in his little BTS blog post on the creation of the song.

I get why people might think it is about relationships, but Ariana talks just as much about her disatisfication with the music industry as she does love. Well, I mean, not as much but still.

The song is about the music industry, about having the industry feel like you owe them something for discovering and helping to put you on. They set high expectations you cannot always make and try to change who you are. As evident by the DW era and even last era and the one before, Ariana's frustrations have increased tenfold and you can hear subtle lyrical references to it throughout DW.

Wonderfully written. I think that's why I enjoy 'I Don't Care' so much, "I used to let some people tell me how to live and what to be but if I can't be me, then f***'s the point? " It's so honest I love it for the lyrics alone.

I didn't know abut Jason's Song's lyric's though, will have to listen to it more closely. Do you have a link to that blog post?

And pulling on an Ari quote real quick: "To me, a dangerous woman is someone who’s not afraid to take a stand, be herself and to be honest." And DW is just that. Ariana may not be writing songs by herself, but she is still making sure the music reflects herself and that she is honest with the lyrics she sings.

Jason said she changed just seven words to what he wrote and went on to say: "her fixes really did sound better coming out of her than my originals would have. She has a perfect sense of what fits her." He also shares that she came up with the melody and general idea of the song as well as other things.

i think it could be about Scooter ALWAYS putting artists below and not handling them all together like he should. that was always my main problem with him, don't sign all these artists if you cant handle giving them all equal promo at the same time. i mean, he and his people can barely handle 2, let alone 15

so glad Ari is personal on this album. Dangerous Woman is honestly covers so much when you listen closely and it's incredible.
