You live in Germany. I live in the US. Europe has always had more of a taste for dance-esque music than the US. Currently in the US if you release a dance song you WILL flop. This isn't unusual. Madonna's Confessions of a Dancefloor was HUGE in Europe..and in the US who cares? The Emancipation of Mimi was slaying! Right now the US only cares about piano driven ballads and trap songs and retro throwbacks. Dance is NOT THERE. Meteorite in the US would be a disaster! Trust me.

Okay, let me explain what I meant. I wouldn't want them to release "Meteorite" now as a single as "You Don't Know" is the
only choice RIGHT NOW as the real third single after #B and YM(E). But what she needs in general today are catchy, light-hearted bops that get stuck in your head and that everybody can relate to.
Kind of funny that you mention Madonna's "Confessions" because I lived for more than a year in the US back in 2005/2006 (which was great because everytime you'd turn on the radio "We Belong Together" would come on

). My relatives actually sent me the "Hung Up" single then

So I kind of experienced that difference between the US and European music markets myself.
But "Meteorite" is not that dance-y as Madonna was back then. It rather reminds of 2001-Kylie who managed to get a top 10 in the US with "Can't Get You Out Of My Head". I think with the right strategy and promo "Meteorite" would be the perfect fifth single (after "You Don't Know" and whatever would be fourth). It might surprise people and could possibly benefit from the throwback yet current appeal that I get from it, too.

This song is everything! The production, the futuristic sound, the vocals, and lyrics are amazing and it feels like I'm on another planet. Multi-format appeal and it's an almost guaranteed smash in international markets (Especially the UK, that is if they don't disown the album by then).

But as it looks like we might not even get a propper third single so I am going to stop rambling about a potential fifth single smash.

I don't think JDON really expects this era to last that song. He rather pointed out the hit
potential of this album, a way it could actually smash if the label, the management, and maybe Mariah herself would do things righT.
