A portion of this cast just isn't compelling, whether it comes down to weak acting or uncompelling writing, I don't know.

The ones highlighted have seriously taken up way to much useless screen time. The writing and or acting of these characters bring the show down a notch, I mean thats half the cast, they want us to love these characters, yet if any of them were to die, I would applaud most probably, some I may be more shook than others, but they're nowhere near the brilliance of Melissa McBride, Norman Reedus etc. Chandler Riggs is ok, it's just I'm over Carl, something needs to change in the dynamic of Ricks family.
They've also kept these weak characters as opposed to some really well developed characters, t
hese are all the times I believe The Walking Dead made a mistake by deciding to kill of interesting characters, and keeping this almost unbearable supporting cast.

Mary/Gareth (should have lasted a lot longer, I think the actors playing them were doing a great job, and I was interested in the cannibalism, this storyline was cut way to short)

Paula (I don't think she was particular a strong actor, but she was compelling, and I wanted to know more about her)

I also would love the show to actually let things unfold infront of us, instead of jump to things, and be like OK now this is whats happening, now these two people are together, etc. I wanted more Carol and Tobin so I could decide if it made sense to me.
