You live in Germany. I live in the US. Europe has always had more of a taste for dance-esque music than the US. Currently in the US if you release a dance song you WILL flop. This isn't unusual. Madonna's Confessions of a Dancefloor was HUGE in Europe..and in the US who cares? The Emancipation of Mimi was slaying! Right now the US only cares about piano driven ballads and trap songs and retro throwbacks. Dance is NOT THERE. Meteorite in the US would be a disaster! Trust me.

YDKWTD is more dance than Meteorite... Meteorite has that throwback vibe that's in right now IMO.

We are not talking about pure DANCE songs as a genre, more about poppy songs that are dancy, u know, those that dominate everywhere nowdays, usa included too.

why on earth are you mentioning madonna? are you stuck in 2005. when rnb hip hop was #1 genre in usa? fast forward to 2014. and u'll see huge change in genres' popularity and chart domination.

And how in the world is Meteorite the song with the retro vibe? I think YDKWTD is the retro-sounding song that sounds similar to what's hot on radio at the moment. Meteorite would bomb on the Hot 100 and at radio. Maybe it would get club spins, and that's it.

I don't let the sales or anything get me down. Mariah is a seasoned Diva at this point. She is not running against Beyonce, Gaga or anyone. She has nothing to prove and the music really speaks for itself. This album is solid.

I agree. I played Money ($ / ...) loudly and my mother asked me to stop playing the song cause the trumpets were too annoying. YDKWTD has a minimal beat that makes her vocals stand out and also is catchy too

I'd close it with "Dedicated" (and take all the talking out except JD's spiel about how "she was almost damn near a member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Word up!" because that's gold).

JD's "Word up" is my least favorite moment in Mariah's discography His voice sounds so annoying. And his laugh is so annoying. And no one even says that anymore

I really like this plan! I think they would be fantastic singles and as well because they're basically my top three favorites of the album.

I just want some news soon. This era is absolutely dead already.
