Ugh, I hope she can low-key snatch a nom for this year. It's probably just under two months until the nominees are announced and I can only think of WB as a sure-fire nomination at this point.

The Fame Monster & Born This Way are fantastic albums lyrically and sonically. The former blends art and pop together very cohesively, and the latter just seems very genuine. The Fame has direction and catchy songs that make it an unforgettable pop debut. If it came out at the end of Gaga's career it would have been a regression....Which is why I don't know why ARTPOP attempted to mimic it.

So she's got one lackluster album under her belt! I'm still anxious for her next full length solo release :duca :

ARTPOP would have been a great follow up to The Fame tbh. As long as she left the Goddess of Moderation **** behind her, people probably would have been here for the flimsy fun gal that puts art in her pop and performances. The big issue, I feel, is that Gaga can never go back to straight "fun" music anymore. I think The Fame Monster and Born This Way really established her as a credible musician with important messages to say and that the ARTPOP era (which seemed to be trying to recreate parts of The Fame) started to undermine that and her credibility. She kind of threw herself into a hole so early on.

Applause and ARTPOP would have smashed if released instead of BTW, but I'm more than happy she released her albums in the way she did, because releasing overtly 'I am quen of ghey'-Born This Way at the height of her career was a ****ing audacious move and I love her for that.
