They hyped it up for weeks, randomly posting things on twitter like "NP - Raining Men - Rihanna/Nicki Minaj" and they didn't even leak it first.

So it's going to be an EP, not a re-release? That **** better be ****ing epic because this rushing out of music ain't cute and ain't doing nothing for her career.

Gurl. Loud was rushed like no other, and it's worked WONDERS for her career.

Yes it did much for her career. I just want an album that's GGGB's pop with Rated R's substance and I don't get that with Loud. I feel like Loud was made to show them that this is how the real RiRi is and to pick her up a couple of fans. It served it's purpose but I want that album that's critically successful and still appeals to the general public. I guess Loud was a nice catalyst for that because it did build her fanbase, and maybe with her next album, or even the EP, she can open with strong numbers, a #1, and critical acclaim.

I get what you're saying. I don't see us getting that with the EP though. I think it'll be cute stuff like GGGB (at least that's what I'm kinda hoping for) and then she'll take a break, and come back out with an album that'll be that marriage of Rated R and GGGB that a lot of people were probably hoping Loud would be.

I hope so, to the album part. And what I basically want from it is:
Ballds: Heavily influnced by guitar (like Firebomb, The Last Song, CKB, RR, Skin even)
Urban: Heavy beats (like Hard, Wait Your Turn, G4L)
Pop: Anthem-like or dance songs, catchy but doesn't lack substance (like OG, DSTM, Umbrella, Disturbia)
ReggaePop: A song with influences of reggae (like Rude Boy, WMN?) Man Down is good but a bit too much for me.
Rock: I'd at least want one R101/SUAD-esque song on there.
That would be a very good album for me.
Edit: Oh, and I'm gonna need a Cheers 2.0.

That's pretty much exactly what I'd want her to come back with. A mix of EVERYTHING.
3 Ballads
2 Urban
3 Pop
2 ReggaePop
2 Rock
And a softer piano ballad (Cry/Unfaithful)
Edit: I saw the Cheers 2.0 comment and I'd need something like that too.
14 tracks and it's a wrap.
PERFECTION.
On the EP, I'd like some GGGB Album-Track like songs. (LGT, PUOM, SMC), a straight up dance track like OG, and one or two ballads (I need to hear Straight Up Beautiful)

I don't have expectations for the EP, other than that it's good.

I want her to make more universal songs in the vein of Cheers.
I think Def Jam is focused on getting those #1s than increasing album sales. They really want MC's wig.

Rihanna's "Cheers (Drink To That)" vaults from #91 to #50 in its second week. It has already moved ahead of her ballad "California King Bed," which peaked two weeks ago at #37 and this week drops from #54 to #60.
"Love The Way You Lie" by Eminem featuring Rihanna tops the 5 million mark in digital sales this week. It's the 15th song to reach that plateau. It's the biggest digital seller for both artists. Eminem's second biggest hit is "Not Afraid," which has sold 3,991,000 copies. Rihanna's is "Disturbia," which has sold 4,240,000. "Love The Way You Lie" spent seven weeks at #1 last summer.
