1) Help requests are specifically made for the purpose of the whole team reviewing a decision - as much as I'm sure you'd all like it, we can't all be online 24/7, so it does take a while.
2) Comparisons to actual, real life situations are generally a bad idea.

It's standard policy to not allow sex talk. Ryanicorn: like you indeed recognized in your blog, the reasoning for that is that this is not a sexually oriented forum - we have users of all ages and in all types of social settings, and such content would be inappropriate. The Lounge is for non-music non-video content, but it's not there for everything you can think of!
