That was before the song was even released let alone announced as a single... It was a week after the performance it was announced the second single then it go an adds date for radio. It's like saying when Rihanna performed Stay on SNL it was a huge reason for its success when it was also before its release date...

Really? So publicly displaying to the buying public that a song has been discounted to half its original price isn't an attempt to give them a better incentive to buy the song? That's promotion.
Edit: Bruno also performed the song on Ellen the same week it was discounted.
Duca stop with the discount discussion, it's part of the promo and if it works good for her i would love to see Phillips song and album discounted this week or the next one
Well if they discount it the label isn't making as much money so it makes sense to point it out. It's as if she was selling half of what she's really selling when it comes to $$$ (which is all that matters to the label and the stores selling the album in the end).

It's ironic that the same people complaing about the discounts is the same people that want their faves labels to discount too so they can reach some higher peak.
