Just two days before Christina Aguilera's long-awaited Bionic LP is set to drop, MTV will be throwing her one heck of a coming-out party: Aguilera will take the stage to perform "Not Myself Tonight" at the MTV Movie Awards on June 6.
"MTV has always been a supporter of my music and my career and I am so excited to perform once again on the Movie Awards," said Aguilera, who performed on the show in 2006. "My performance comes just days before the release of my album Bionic."
Fans got an advance look at what they may see during Aguilera's MTV performance when her eye-grabbing video for "Not Myself Tonight" premiered last week, presenting fetish-themed outerwear, aggressive dance routines and a whole lotta flesh. The full album, which hits shelves on June 8, comes from collaborations with Sia, Tricky Stewart, Polow Da Don, Linda Perry, Le Tigre, Ladytron, Hill & Switch, and others.
"The artists I chose to work with added so many unique sonic layers to Bionic," Aguilera said recently. "My intention was to step into their world and what they do combined with my own vision and sound. The results were magic."
Airing live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, the 19th annual MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by comedian Aziz Ansari. Initial voting to pick the nominees concluded in April at MovieAwards.MTV.com, where fans selected their favorite films in categories like Best Kiss, Best Villain and Best WTF Moment. After the nominees are announced, voting for a winner in each category will kick off on May 11 and run through June 5. But voting for Best Movie will stay open throughout the awards show itself — meaning you'll have a chance to influence the night's biggest prize until the very last minute.
Now she's stuck with this song until the album's release. Things are looking good now, but they won't be in a month from now after the initial "shock" of this video wears off.

I'm happy for the video peaking at #1, but like someone said earlier, that doesn't necessarily coincide with "hit". I am still anxious for this album though considering the somewhat disastrous reaction to both NMT and it's accompanying video. Xtina is usually an album artist so just the sheer fact of that makes me more excited for this album.
From Mouse Club to "Genie in a Bottle" to mom, Christina Aguilera has dominated the music charts since she was 18. The singer returns this year with a cameo in "Get Him to the Greek" and her fourth studio album Bionic
God, I'm really excited about these songs! Major Lazer are soo freakin cool! Imagine their crazy beats and sound to Christina's VOICE! This album will be so amazing, I just know it...
Also from that "insider"...

imagine christina really cutting back on the over-singing. i didnt initially even know it was her until i was told then i could hear her voice in it. funkier, a bit more raw. i don't want to say it sounds like MIA or santigold (as vocally they are so different from her), but you can hear that sort of sound influencing.
