I'm actually far from a SJW. And I'm also white myself. And far be it from me to make your ignorant opinion my issue, but I will not see my fave 'dragged' for lyrics that suck when the lyricism on this song is deliberately loud, clear and literal.
Maybe if I portray this through the lens of something else that is closer to home for your closed-mindedness, you can wrap your head around it? A lot of people criticized Born This Way for similar 'bad lyrics' on arrival because the bridge is literally her listing sexualities. But it had to be said at the time because gay teens were (and still are) killing themselves practically one a week because they were made to feel that living as a gay person was not worth it anymore.
Now I'm not sure if you have a television (if you do it's probably tuned to Fox anyway so whatever), but I'm guessing you have an internet connection of some kind since you had the audacity to quoted me. Black people are being killed by police officers. Black people are having their culture appropriated by others. Black people are being made to feel like their lineage and history is not something to be proud of. The reason the lyrics to this song are so literal and so culturally rich is because if huge black icons like Beyoncé don't take a stand and say 'I am proud to be a black person with a big nose, baby hair, an afro' then the culture will continue to be taken by others and black people will become whitewashed as they are made to feel that being proudly black in both their image and lifestyle is something that will compromise their opportunities and the way they are treated by others.
I could go on. But tl;dr open your eyes. And don't ****ing mention the KKK in this thread, of all threads, for Christ's sake. The insensitivity really stinks.
Woo, the message and video are amazing. Celebrate the skin you're in hunties! I'm not too fussed on the actual sound of the music but that's okay. The choreo+looks too >>>>
Also, some of you calling people 'white twink bottoms' like that's a bad thing ignorance goes both ways.
I continue to LIVE tho
I like my baby hair, with baby hair and afros
I like my negro nose with Jackson Five nostrils
Earned all this money but they never take the country out me
I got hot sauce in my bag, swag
This is so ****ing amazing. Anyone calling the lyrics tragic either hasn't actually read/understood them, or is just ignorant to the purpose of this song. Or maybe it makes you racists a little uncomfortable?
She gets it right 100% of the time.
