People do this to me all the time. I said songs like Here, In The Night and When We Were Young are almost certainly not going #1 and then everybody thinks I said those songs will flop when infact I only ever said that they're not going #1.
It's like if you say something just slightly negative about any song people think you're saying it's going to flop. It's ridiculous, can people on here start learning how to read please?

1. Sorry = 160k + 146M + 21.2M = 607
2. Hello = 175k + 170M + 17.6M = 601
Hello has 15k sales lead over, over a 20M lead in airplay and only behind by about 4M in streaming. I get how Billboard weigh each component, but "Hello" still is ahead in two major components of the charts, so yeah I think "Hello" still seems more popular than "Sorry". Billboard is a game, as I said before. It depends on whatever they choose should be weighted more, so it shouldn't be taken seriously.
And I'm not one of those Adele stans that hate Justin, so please don't even try me - to the posters who are baiting.

Yeah I'm talking about those numbers too. 3.6M streams are 17% off the 21.2M
It's relative lead on streaming is bigger than Hello's lead on airplay or sales.

It's just ridiculous. The reading comprehension on this site is quite ghastly.
Saying Hello is a bigger hit than Sorry is not in the slightest suggesting that Sorry isn't a big hit.
Anyway, let's put a stop to this convo now before people start blaming us for hijacking the thread.
WWWY seems to have stabilised within the top 20 for now.

The formula they use is absolutely appalling. It doesn't make sense at all. Hello is still by far and out the most played song on radio still, and it's still ahead in sales. The only reason Sorry's so far ahead in streaming is because Purpose is available for streaming and 25 isn't. No one can wholeheartedly say that Sorry is more popular than Hello at this point.

I really doubt that.
Sorry is also bigger on Youtube right now and Adele can do a lot of things, but she can't match Bieber's Spotify power. The gap would probably be a bit smaller, but who knows how much.

Like I've always said, Billboard is a game and there isn't a true measure of popularity. It's not really anyone's fault but Adele's label that her album isn't up for streaming. It wouldn't make a difference. Bieber is a streaming monster.
My point is, it's funny how you can be ahead in two major components and still lose #1. It's not really that big of a deal to me. It's certainly not frustrating seeing as though "Hello" has now spent 10 weeks at #1, after some folks thought it would be a "frontloaded" success. I think any song that spends all of those weeks @ #2 should at least get a week at #1. Poor "Work It"

Sorry is not as far ahead on YouTube as he is on other streaming platforms which says a lot. Hello would have much higher streams on streaming services if 25 was available for streaming, it's just common sense. By the way, doesn't Hello have the highest plays in 24 hours ever on Spotify? How does she not have Bieber's Spotify power? 25 would be the most streamed album of 2015 by a mile if it had been put up for streaming.

But Billboard isn't "choosing" what should be weighted more..people are. More people stream than anything else so streaming should be weighted the most.

I agree. I absolutely think Sorry deserves to spend at least one week at number 1.
And that was my point as well, it's crazy how someone can be ahead in AirPlay and sales yet still lose the number 1. It allows for manipulation of the charts by artists and record labels.

They DO choose it. There was a point when radio was weighed more than digital sales, even though digital sales were at an all-time high and radio was seen as "irrelevant" (is it still weighted more?). If the Billboard folk wants to weigh airplay or digital sales more, they can - without any explanation. It's a choice by them, not the public.
