Anticipated Comebacks for 2014
1 - Lily Allen
Anticipating her next record like NO other. I was absolutely in love with her first two and I'm fairly certain I will also love the next one.
Hard Out Here never fully clicked with me, but that just reminds me that I'll certainly love anything else she puts out, quite honestly. Very ready and excited for this one.
2 - Rihanna
Anyone that knows me knows that I have an extremely wishy-washy relationship with Rihanna and her music.
Talk That Talk has a soft spot in my heart,
Unapologetic not so much. But I have this flicker of faith that Rih will totally, 100% deliver with her comeback album this year... her first non-fall release in half a decade! The rumored title
She is enough to get my blood pumping.
3 - FKA twigs
Gathering reviewer / Tumblr / bandwagoner attention in 2013, I'm totally caught in fascination with FKA. She's making fascinating music and just-as-fascinating visuals. It's stunning and captivating whichever sense you decide to use. I have a strong feeling that the debut album from this project will not disappoint.
4 - Lana Del Rey
I don't like admitting I actually enjoy Lana's music and image because of most of the people that actually DO enjoy it, but hey - she's cool. I'm very, very interested to see what she is going to do in 2014. Not because I'm certain I will like it, but because it'll test her as an artist. I think she'll be very interesting to watch.
5 - Azealia Banks
For some reason, I do still have hope. Yes. Azealia is not someone I was just infatuated with for a few seconds. I pretty much consistently love what she puts out.
ATM Jam always sucked but even she knows that. Every other effort has been quite promising. Also, I think she's quite easy to relate to and I just want her to succeed. Or at least get an album out.
6 - Hilary Duff
Sometimes I feel bad for not caring a little more about Hilary and her career post-Disney. It's caught up with me now. I feel like she will wholly deliver with her upcoming studio effort and I'm willing to indulge fully. Maybe she won't actually be that great... I just feel like I'm going to like it.
7 - Björk
...well, it's been 2 and a half years. Here's to wishful thinking. After venturing into her full discography I will fully experience a Björk album for the first time as a full-fledged fan. I need it to happen!
8 - Crystal Castles
Also a bit of wishful thinking, a bit less likely probably... but I also really need their fourth record in my life.
9 - No Doubt
They've been working with Greg Kurstin and Diplo, right? I loved
Push And Shove but I have "no doubt" they will come back harder with this record and I'm so, so ready to hear it! Please release it, y'all!
10 - Ke$ha
As much as I want a comeback record in 2014, it seems less and less likely by the week. But... that doesn't mean she will be invisible. She'll be around and I'm very excited to see what she decides to do.
