Synopsis
Lykke Li finally returns to the countdown after only being seen at number 59, with "Possibility". "Little Bit" was Lykke's debut single and the lead to her first album, Youth Novels. The track is mellow, sensual, and it fuses a few different types of sounds like soul and quasi-bossa nova. It made it to number 20 in Sweden, it was featured on some commercials, and it was even sampled by some rappers.
Standout Line
"And for you I keep my legs apart, and forget about my tainted heart"
"Pass This On" has such a sultry tropical vibe. And I knew I was one of the few people who recognized how remarkable "drops" is: trance-y baseline and beats, perfectly executed anxious and scary vocals. And who could dismiss those sweet bells.
Not too excited about "rascal," but I love its finale. "Little Bit" encapsulates all of Lykke's playful sensual sense in a just a few minutes of effortless and folksy music.
Lykke Li was one of those 'first times' for me during this rate. I absolutely found this single to be my favourite of hers. I'm so upset to see it go, it would've been in my top ten!
Synopsis
"In Due Order" is the fifth track from kin and it is iamamiwhoami's fourth song of nine to exit the rate, leaving them with five left. The track is much more rough and machine-like than the previous track, "Play". The movements in the video are disorderly with hairy figures. This one has less lyrics than most of their tracks. Just something to think about.
Standout Line
"Can you see the scar in the perfect sky? / And the hills align with a crooked smile?"
Everyone except for madonnas seemed to be calling for "In Due Order". It was my least favorite on the album. I don't know, it just doesn't sound pleasant. Ok, we're now top 25! Remaining amount of songs:
