Hey guys. So I dont know how many of you know HELLOGOODBYE but they have a great single called Here (In Your Arms) and MTV is starting to play the video a lot. Hellogoodbye really wants to be on TRL and I want to support them in any way possible. If you are like me and want to see this amazing band make it to the TRL countdown, please vote for them and help a young band make it to the top! You can vote here.

How can you being a blatant racist not be a big deal? You're basically saying that because of Akon, all Africans create horrible music. It's not like this is the first situation where you've made a stupid ass comment like this, because I remember you making some startement about Beyonce making all music that comes from black people look ignorant, around when you began your hatred on Check On It?

Assuming he did, then it is no worse than calling Robbie Williams a Brit. But if he didn't, then it's an obvious racial slur.

I agree somewhat. Except people associate African with black, and I would hope Mike didn't mean it in a racist way but I'd like to say that we cannot help the fact that the term "African" is often associated with black. It isn't about Candian or German or British, because they're all presumed to be white, so calling Avril a Canadian doesn't have the same effects as calling Akon an African. It all boils down to this: we associate African with "black," and European and Candian with "white." Plain and simple.
