I honestly can see RHI missing out on the top spot at Hot AC (Billboard): Gotye is 155 spins away from it on the Nielsen SoundScan panel, and gained 176 spins last week; i know Adele is still gonna gain, but it had just a +44 spins last week. RHI has only one chance to top the chart and that's this week, since in 2 weeks STIUTK is going to #1; thus WAY needs to plummet all the way down from the top spot right now.
Damn! At least "Rumour Has It" was top 10 on Pop and HAC.
Adele needs to get her future singles on streaming sites ASAP (not like she needs it with that HUGE album but still) I feel like On-Demand will diminish her singles success a bit on the Hot 100 just like it's happening with "Rumour Has It".
It could go top 10 if it were put on Spotify and had a music video, but the label obviously don't care about singles, which is understandable at this point.
Yeah its sad to see RHI not getting any sort of push at all... :\. If RHI is still gaining by June 5th we can see RHI moving up nicely probably since Adele is going to have a primetime special on NBC at 8 with an interview and 6 songs from RAH.
what are they thinking ?
her previous singles went to #1 in the UK and US, and not thanks to them.
"Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You" had music videos. "Rolling in the Deep" was her most performed song here and "Someone Like You" went to #1 for a week because of Adele's VMA performance and went back to #1 for four additional weeks after the video was released, and of course "Someone Like You" caught on in the UK thanks to her Brit Awards performance. Only "Set Fire to The Rain" went to #1 with nothing but airplay as promo. So, you can't say that the success of those singles wasn't thanks to them...
