Yeah but Avril always does better digitally and ringtones in Asia, where as Oricon only counts physical singles, which Avril never ships that many in Japan. That is why she always hits #1 on Japan Hot 100, and always has lousy peaks on Oricon.

Girlfriend also peaked at #26 on Oricon, but was one of her biggest eras. The song was the best selling ringtone in Japan that year, and had huge impact on Western airplay a la What The Hell, which peaked in the top 20 of Oricon (Avril her POWER!).

Anyway, a top 40 in Oricon is a HUGE hit for a western artist in Japan, and Bad Reputation and Here's to Never Growing Up could NEVER.

Not Let Me Go gonna go top 60 on HAC without an adds date, and RNR took 3 months with an adds date to go top 50 on HAC, and not even break top 50 on Pop

We will see next week if this will have a stronger start than HTNGU

She has a better chance if the selling point is Avril AND Chad performing. SO fingers crossed. I hope this is the song that revives her career. It feels like it could be. Then Give You What You Like can solidify it. But knowing Epic they will re-destroy her career by releasing Sippin' On Sunshine mid-January

I think this as well. However I will still have a meltdown if it turns out to be true. I mean, OK, she missed VMAs. But to miss another 2 awards shows while she has a running era and close to the album release is just an #EpicFail that will be hard to forgive.

Yeah, Avril + Chad performance could make people talking. Especially if the performance is really intimate full of touches, kisses etc
