Animal rights is a complicated topic because when viewing multiple perspectives, there are the pros and there are the cons that most of the time has balance. In terms of animal testing, I find it awful that they have to go through extreme, excruciating pain only to provide the benefit of human needs. I've watched many documentaries of vivisection and the emotion that the animals display are very heartbreaking. Also, those who work in such conditions usually mistreat the animals by kicking, slapping, punching, and such with the additional pain of testing. In addition, many animals (babies) are separated from their parents at birth only to be experimented on. It makes you wonder how fortunate humans are to the point where the animals went through torturous experiments only to benefit the human race. On the other hand, animal testing has been the key to finding many cures for health issues. In addition, some animals are closely genetically the same as we are, such as chimpanzees. Therefore, why would "we" test on humans when we can test on animals who are the minorities? I am against animal testing for multiple reasons provided, but I can see how helpful it has been for discovering cures and whatnot.
Should people wear fur? That is personal choice. I will just leave that with a simple question: Are there alternatives for wearing fur?
As for eating meat, that is all up to the individual. As a vegan, I tend not to eat meat because of multiple reasons. I think about the slaughtering, the ingredients added, the bacteria, and so on. However, it is unfortunate that many vegans and vegetarians feel the need to act superior and force meat eaters to change their views. I don’t judge people who eat meat because I respect people’s choices to some extent. Should animals be treated as humans? There is a fine line between “humanity” and being an animal. Just giving the proper respect to animals is a good start.
I will update and add more eventually. I will wait for Katie’s answer
