Mark Ronson’s smash “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars),” which is thus far the best-selling single of 2015, appears poised to eventually earn a diamond distinction.
As of July 24, 2015, it was within a million digital units of that mark.
The RIAA confirms that “Uptown Funk” earned a 9X platinum certification on that date. A 9X certification confirms a US unit total of at least 9 million; one unit is equal to a paid download or 100 streams.
In addition to earning the 9X platinum certification, “Funk” also received retroactive distinctions for reaching the 6x, 7x and 8x platinum thresholds.

UF could in September if it's performed and wins awards at the VMAs. I still don't understand why Bruno has sung the song so little. He gets just as many royalties from what it sales, streams, and its radio airplay as Ronson, so Mars has nothing to lose.

6.5 million is an impressive mark -- With the new worldwide release day cutting sales and streaming off on Thursday night at midnight, it'll be three more charts until the VMA effects are reflected on the H100/BB200, which will probably be UF's next chance at a significant boost. However, that means the entire boost will show up in the same tracking period.

I hope Uptown Funk gets a pre VMA boost to get its sales up instead of down this week! I hope UF can sweep the VMAs on Sunday night too!

If Kworb's estimates are right, UF will be almost flat, selling 21K, which would bring the estimated total to 6,577,000. We should get an update on HDD for the first 8 months pretty soon though. I wish UF had won more, but since the AMAs are based more off of sales, streaming, and airplay, UF should sweep that show, and I think UF will be in the low 20s-high 30s on the Hot 100 by around that time (right around the one-year/52-week mark). Since UF is now getting most of its points from streaming, a sales boost the week BB changes the formula to weaken streaming would help UF stay on the chart a couple of more weeks, and hopefully through New Years or even the Grammy's.

UF will probably end 2015 with around 6,8m, if it's going to be performed at the super bowl then it might end 2016 with 7,5m and hopefully we reach 8m by the end of the decade and even more.
I also think Just the way you are will hit 7m and more by the end of the decade.
