I don't see Taylor releasing a new album in late 2016 given her current era is still going very strong. She'll most likely continue releasing singles from 1989 into the first half of 2016, a new album the same year would be too soon. She's not Rihanna.

Anyway I'm glad she didn't do the VMAs since it sounds like it was a mess (I only watched Ari's performance) BUT it's still tragic how everything was leading up to a Rise performance (the radio interviews, remixes etc.) and then nothing. If she doesn't want the song to be dead, she's gonna have to do a lot more than that...

You know, I actually think it was kind of rude of Katy to not show up at the awards like she did in 2012 for Rihanna, since she was recieving the Vanguard Award and she claims to be such good friends and love her so much.
Especially since she was there when Beyonce got hers in 2014 and danced her ass off and cheered all through out her performance
Katy doesn't owe Rih **** and she has done more than enough for her already by always being up in her ass. It's actually Rihanna who doesn't seem to reciprocate the friendship.

I don't know how to say this and remain ~socially responsible~ but Katy performing a song like...Rise would have stuck out like a sore thumb at the VMAs
Um Rih hasn't been a good friend to Katy since 2012 when she got back with Chris for a bit. Katy's still supported her but Rih hasn't given much back. I don't blame her for missing the VMAs and neither should anyone else, she owes Rih nothing.
I think the Rise music video is very underrated. It has grew on me so much over the last few weeks. I love it so much.
