And this is her main problem. She's proving she's a great vocalist, decent performer (I say decent because there was some messy performances during BTW/AP that disprove that) but is it strumming up interest in her own music? Is anyone besides her base anticipating new music?
The one thing it's accomplished though is her relationship with the media so it's a victory in that situation.
She's not had a hit in 5 years. Applause was a "hit", in regards to chart position, but it's largely forgotten.
