It's sitting pretty in your inbox.
Much more than last week, I'm happy with this entry. I worked super hard on it, I knew I had to live up to the fact that you saved me last week. Hope I do you proud! Last week was a wake up call, and certainly lit a fire under my butt. I feel like my entry this week is more aligned with my entires from the earlier weeks in this competition, in terms of quality.

At the surface, Justin Bieber's "Baby" sounds like nothing more than an adolescent's innocent tale of unrequited puppy love. But lurking beneath is a darker, deeper meaning - the secret of which lies with an uncredited "ghost writer" on the track. Officially, the track is listed with the writers Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and Terius "The-Dream" Nash, but in reality, the song was actually penned by one Ms. Britney Jean Spears. "Baby" documents Britney's mindset in the midst of her public and personal breakdown - through breaking up with Kevin Federline, shaving her head, and eventually losing custody of her own children. Britney originally wrote the song for herself, as a means of commenting on her struggles, but her label deemed it too controversial. Not willing to throw away the track, Britney went behind her label's back, and sold the song to Justin Bieber's team with the promise that her name would not appear anywhere on it. Britney felt that despite her label's demand that she not release this song, she still wanted her message to be heard - and thus the words of one generation's pop princess would now ring out from the voice of this generation's pop princess...er...prince. Don't believe me? Let's take a closer look at the lyrics.
Quote:
You know you love me, I know you care Just shout whenever, and I'll be there
You are my love, you are my heart
And we will never ever ever be apart
In the opening verse, Britney sings directly to her most recent ex, Kevin Federline. Although Britney was the one who broke things off, around the time she wrote this song she began to wonder if this was done in error. She reaffirms her love to Kevin, and lets him know (in her state of madness) that she'll be there for him whenever...with a camera in hand ready to film Chaotic season 2, that is.
Quote:
Oh, for you I would have done whatever
And I just can't believe we ain't together
And I wanna play it cool, but I'm losin' you I'll buy you anything, I'll buy you any ring
With the second verse, Britney is once again singing to Kevin in an effort to go back in time to before this breakdown occurred. With the very telling line "I'll buy you anything", Britney confirms the long suspected fact that Britney footed the bill for everything in the relationship, with Kevin mooching off of her financial success as his "back-up dancer" paycheques completely dried up. She lets him know that if bribing him with material items is what it takes to get him back, she's game.
Quote:
And I'm in pieces, baby fix me And just shake me 'til you wake me from this bad dream
I'm going down, down, down, down
And I just can't believe my first love won't be around
The second half of verse two is particularly meaningful, as Britney shifts focus from her broken relationship with Kevin to her broken self-state. She admits to being in pieces, and refers to her current life as a "bad dream". Hinting that things still can, and will, get worse, she laments that she's going "down, down, down". Unless you were living under a rock in 2007, you all know exactly where things were headed at this point (see below).
"I'm going down..."
"down..."
"down..."
"down..."
Quote:
Baby, baby, baby oooh
Like baby, baby, baby nooo Like baby, baby, baby oooh
I thought you'd always be mine (mine)
Baby, baby, baby oooh
Like baby, baby, baby nooo
Like baby, baby, baby oooh
I thought you'd always be mine (mine)
Although the lyrics in the chorus sound simple, they are actually far from it. While some may assume Britney is singing "baby" as a pet name for her love (Kevin), she's actually using the term literally - referring to her own children. With the gut-wrenching and heart-shattering "I thought you'd always be mine" line, she addresses the fact that she's lost custody of them.
Quote:
When I was 13, I had my first love,
There was nobody that compared to my baby
and nobody came between us or could ever come above
The rap section of this song (as performed by Ludacris) involves a change of perspective and a look backwards in time. When originally written by Britney, she planned on slipping into her alter ego Mona Lisa (as a result of a meth Cheeto haze) to perform this rap. The lyrics ("When I was 13, I had my first love) harken back to Britney's first flame - Justin Timberlake - and what was undoubtedly a much more simple, positive, and mentally healthy time.
Quote:
She had me going crazy, oh, I was star-struck, she woke me up daily, don’t need no Starbucks.
Here, Luda raps about this love being better than Starbucks. When you consider Britney coming up with this line, it becomes suddenly more meaningful and poignant. We all know Starbucks is among Britney's most favoured vices, and she states that with Justin Timberlake's love, she would no longer need it for comfort and joy.
Quote:
She knows she got me dazing cause she was so amazing and now my heart is breaking but I just keep on saying...
Towards the end of the rap section, Britney laments on how much better her relationship with Justin Timberlake was. She realizes, however, that the days of her denim-clad lover are long gone, and she's left with nothing but a broken (and demin-less) heart.
Quote:
Baby, baby, baby oooh
Like baby, baby, baby nooo
Like baby, baby, baby oooh
I thought you'd always be mine (mine)
I'm gone (Yeah Yeah Yeah, Yeah Yeah Yeah)
Now I'm all gone (Yeah Yeah Yeah, Yeah Yeah Yeah)
Now I'm all gone (Yeah Yeah Yeah, Yeah Yeah Yeah) Now I'm all gone (gone, gone, gone...)
I'm gone
Once again, Britney returns to the chorus, in which she confronts the painful fact that her children have been taken away from her. The realization that they're gone sends Britney into what is surely her complete rock bottom. No longer is she "going down"...she now admits "I'm gone...I'm all gone...". Britney's breakdown is complete. She's lost Kevin, she's lost her kids, she's lost her hair, she's lost her reputation and on top of that all, she realizes she'll never be the happy girl she once was with Justin Timberlake. All that is gone, and in fact, so is she. With a 5150 hold placed on her, Britney found her rock bottom in being taken away to the hospital. With her planned music video of this track (which obviously never happened due to her label's refusal), Britney was going to use actual TMZ footage of the night of her 5150 hold. In a nod to the original artist, Bieber's music video features a quick, even subliminal, flash of this moment. See the slowed down gif below for proof.
Until now, the truth behind Justin Bieber's seemingly innocent track "Baby" has never been disclosed. It is my hope that you now fully grasp the deeper, albeit more upsetting, meaning behind the song. Penned by a mentally broken and bruised Britney Spears, it provides a first hand peek into the breakdown of a star. Fortunately, we are now able to look back on this dark time in Britney's life and hold confident in the fact that she's back on her feet again as the Queen of all reality TV singing talent shows.
You know, as long as you ignore her dead eyes.

Gimme Gimme
Britney Spears' iconic 2007 single, Gimme More, was very specially written for her love of something dear to her heart: Starbucks. Miss Spears has made it no secret how infatuated she has become with the company, but even her closest fans have failed to realize the Starbucks-symbolism in the #1 (in Canada) smash single, Gimme More. The timeless anthem shows clear homage to the big coffee bean in Brit's heart.
Quote:
It's Britney, bitch
I see you - and I just wanna dance with you
Every time they turn the lights down
Just wanna go that extra mile for you
You got my display of affection
Feels like no one else in the room but you
The iconic introduction features Britney sweet-talking her Starbucks: dancing is used metaphorically to represent eating. The vocal run begins with a bang, capturing that moment when Britney's GPS tells her that there is a Starbucks just a mile off. She would gladly go that extra mile for her deepest desire. The thousands of candids with Britney and her Starbucks affinity is nothing but a display of affection; she ain't about to keep it a secret. She also eloquently highlights upon that feeling you get when you love something so much, you can't see anything else but it - this represents Brit's adoration for Starbucks.
Quote:
We can get down like there’s no one around
We keep on rockin’, we keep on rockin'
Cameras are flashin’ while we're dirty dancin’
They keep watchin’, keep watchin' Feels like the crowd is sayin’
A recurring theme in Brit's music is backlash against the paparazzi. These lyrics are surely no different! She gets down with her Starbucks in all sorts: on holidays, in rage, and just on ordinary days (see image above). Brit recognoizes that jealous haters will try to take photos of her and her beloved; but she dismisses that. They keep watchin', flashin' their cameras - nothing will separate her from her Starbucks, keep trying lessors!
Quote:
Gimme Gimme MORE! Gimme MORE! Gimme gimme... MORE.
After the preceding lyrics, it's obvious that this unforgettable chorus is referring to Brit's
untiring love for Starbucks, as she yowls out MORE! and MORE! Just one cup isn't enough.
Quote:
The center of attention
Even when they’re up against the wall
You got me in a crazy position
If you’re on a mission you got my permission
This verse Britney continues to elaborate on her constant battle with the paparazzi. When she's in Starbucks, everyone's up against the wall waiting to see what she's going to order. The latter two lines represent Britney's inner struggle with choosing an order. Everything is just too damn wonderful. She proceeds to give permission to the paparazzi to choose for her. Chai Latte? White Chocolate Mocha? Caramel Frappacino? A difficult mission that Britney can simply not overcome. (Thankfully, she now has Jason for that! Phew!)
Quote:
I just can't control myself, oh! They want more? Well I'll give them more, ow!
Britney feels out of control due to her Starbucks affinity... but loves it. They want more money?
She'll GIVE them more. The paparazzi wants to keep publicizing her love affair? She'll FEED it. This is additionally symbolic of all Britney's X Factor/Femme Fatale royalties going towards Starbucks.
Gimme More marked the very initial stages of her love for Starbucks, and it has progressed amazingly through the years, as the photos pile up daily. The exclusive relationship is one universally praised; when will Jelena? They ought to start sending her checks for promo. Unless they already do... I hope I have guided you to see the true meaning of Britney Jean's comeback smash, Gimme More: a beautifully composed homage to the one and only Starbucks!

Le Video
Nekci Menij is a young lady with a speech impediment, who has recently fell in love with a wealthy commercial fisherman from the Gulf coast and decides to create a song about it, naming it "Super Bass" (su-per-base) instead of (su-per-b-ass) as it originally should be. She begins her song:
"This one is for the boys with the booming system
Top down, AC with the cooling system
When he come up in the club, he be blazin' up
Got stacks on deck like he savin' up
And he ill, he real, he might got a deal
He pop bottles and he got the right kind of bill
He cold, he dope, he might sell coke
He always in the air, but he never fly coach
He a mother****ing trip, trip, sailor of the ship, ship
When he make it drip, drip kiss him on the lip, lip
That's the kind of dude I was lookin' for
And yes you'll get slapped if you're lookin' hoe"
Analysis #1
Boasting about her lovers large boat with an expensive music system, and that he is so wealthy that he practically leaves stacks of money on the deck of his **** because he doesn't care. He is so rich they he may be a drug dealer and he is a sailor (of course) and she alludes that he makes her vagina drip juices so she kisses him, with reference to the very wet environment at see. If you look at her man, she will slap you, because she is very protective of what's hers.
"I said, excuse me, you're a hell of a guy
I mean my, my, my, my you're like pelican fly
I mean, you're so shy and I'm loving your tie
You're like slicker than the guy with the thing on his eye, oh
Yes I did, yes I did, somebody please tell him who the F I is
I am Nekci Menij, I mack them dudes up, back coupes up, and chuck the deuce up "
Analysis #2
He is such a great guy and soars above all, such as Pelicans do, over the sea. He wears a tie with his standard sailor uniform, and he is even more masculine and smooth than any pirate (guy with the thing of his eye).
"Boy you got my heartbeat runnin' away
Beating like a drum and it's coming your way
Can't you hear that boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, bass
Yeah that's the super bass
Got that super bass boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, bass
Yeah that's the super bass
(Boom)
You got that boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, he got that super bass
Boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, he got that super bass"
Analysis #3
This chorus is to represent the day the fisherman/sailor proposed to Necki, as gave here a very large Bass. The Bass is a large fish, who frequently resides in fresh waters, and to find a large Saltwater Bass is extremely rare and this shocks Nekci. She falls is love even more as her heart beats like "boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom"
"This one is for the boys in the polos
Entrepreneur ****** & the moguls
He could ball with the crew, he could solo
But I think I like him better when he dolo
And I think I like him better with the fitted cap on
He ain't even gotta try to put the mac on
He just gotta give me that look, when he give me that look
Then the panties comin' off, off, uh
Excuse me, you're a hell of a guy you know I really got a thing for American guys
I mean, sigh, sickenin' eyes I can tell that you're in touch with your feminine side, oh
Yes I did, yes I did, somebody please tell him who the F I is
I am Nekci Menij, I mack them dudes up, back coupes up, and chuck the deuce up"
Analysis #4
She explains how he is a very versatile man who owns many business as well, but can dress down, and look casual with a fitted cap, and jeans, while among his friends. He is very attractive to Nekci and when he gives her a subtle look, she gets sexually aroused, as he possesses eyes that make her melt. She "macks dudes up" which means she pleases him very much and he has fell in love with her, just as much as she has with him.
"See I need you in my life for me to stay
No, no, no, no, no I know you'll stay
No, no, no, no, no don't go away
Boy you got my heartbeat runnin' away
Don't you hear that heartbeat comin' your way
Oh it be like, boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, bass
Can't you hear that boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, bass"
Analysis #5
Nekci finishes her song, with the message to her fisherman fiance that she needs him in her life, or she may just kill herself. She begs for him to now leave her and explains that he went through so much work catching the Super Bass for her, so he must love her enough, to never leave, and that he should have heard her heart beating rapidly as he gave her the fish and placed the engagement ring on her finger.
This concludes Energy's analysis of Nekci Menij's "Superbass"

Since U Been Gone Lyrics
Here's the thing
We started out friends
It was cool, but it was all pretend
Yeah, yeah
Since you been gone
You dedicated, you took the time
Wasn't long till I called you mine
Yeah, yeah
Since you been gone
And all you'd ever hear me say
Is how I picture me with you
That's all you'd ever hear me say
[Chorus]
But since you been gone
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah, yeah
Thanks to you
Now I get what I want
Since you been gone
How can I put it? You put me on
I even fell for that stupid love song
Yeah, yeah
Since you been gone
How come I've never heard you say
I just want to be with, be with you?
Guess you never felt that way
[Chorus]
You had your chance, you blew it
Out of sight, out of mind
Shut your mouth, I just can't take it
Again, and again, and again, and again
Since you been gone (since you been gone)
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah, yeah
Thanks to you (thanks to you)
Now I get, I get what I want
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah, yeah
Thanks to you (thanks to you), now I get (I get)
You should know (you should know)
That I get
I get what I want
Since you been gone
Since you been gone
Since you been gone
Since U Been Gone Saga
Act 1
So this is a story about a man and a man's best friend.
They were tighter than the hair plugs inserted into Enrique's balding head.
Little did they know that their bond was about to be put to the ultimate test.
It's a shame, considering just how great of friends they became in such a short amount of time.
A trust was built and the man gradually allowed his better half to spread out into his business.
The man was in oblivious bliss, content with his life.
Too bad he failed to realize just how screwed he'll get in the future.
Act 2
The man's friend always had the best intent for the man.
The friend always tried to keep things smooth in the relationship.
Lately, the friend could feel nothing but neglect.
The man started being relentlessly abusive.
The friend started realizing that the end was drawing very near.
Act 3
The friend tried to control the fire that was building up within,
Upset that the had man forgot about their union.
With the initial pain that starting making the man regret his decisions in the relationship,
The friend decided to let it all out.
Act 4
Thankfully for modern medicine, the problem that came in between the man and his friend was all worked out. With two table spoons of Pepto-Bismol, the inflammation went down and the level of bacteria decreased to a comfortable level. The man promised to watch what he ingested and the man and his bowels reaffirmed their love for one another. The man's bowels laid smugly back in formation knowing that it'll never has to deal with junk if it didn't want to and went back to sleep.
