Love both but Die Young wins. As basic as the production is, it's the better song.
The production on "Die Young" is actually a lot more technical than "Diamonds".
The production on the Rihanna track is very minimal, probably to highlight her vocals.
The funny thing is, Benny Blanco co-produced both songs.

Well, I agree...but it sounds like a lot of songs that have been played out on the radio in the last 3 years or so. It's not a bad song though, I've played it like 30 times already, it's really fun.

I get what you mean though. I think you meant to say that the production doesn't sound new or fresh yeah, instead of calling it basic? To an extent, I agree on that point. "Die Young" is in no way simple though. Dr. Luke is pretty advanced at what he does. He is a mastermind in producing.
