One directive of the ATRL administration that I find kind of strange is how Ex - Mods can't get warned no matter what they post. Be it blatant flamebait or trolling.

I get it that the current moderating staff will not get warned no matter what they post. (although even that is a bit odd seeing how a few mods can be extremely rude and abrasive at times) but I digress.

IMO, Everyone should be held accountable for blatant and persistent breaking of the rules, no matter what their position is or else how do you expect compliance in return?

Mods & Ex-Mods want the members to treat them with respect but then they do things like that and expect the members to address them with deference because of their position. Why is that?

The example that I quoted is something that can easily derail a thread and be very disruptive, yet it is ignored, because it was posted by an ex-mod?

This kind of argument about warning current mods/ex-mods have been discussed before. Current moderators can't be warned because if they get banned, it defeats the purpose of having a staff. The best way of bringing your concerns is to Athens: as mods have explained before that they are evaluated throughout the year.

And most of the time, these complaints are exaggerated anyway. Stans really have a hard time being impartial to posts that don't aren't necessarily agreed with or is satirical in nature.

But my main concern isn't with why the current moderating staff is not warned but with why aren't the Ex-Mods warned? As them getting warned/banned doesn't affect the authority/staff in any way or at least that's what I think.

And yeah, I agree with that whole "stans really have a hard time being impartial to posts that are satirical in nature" but a post like the one that I quoted would get warned if it was posted by a random member.

And I brought this up not because of that one example, but because overtime I've noticed it happen, a lot and it just seems strange, given how strict ATRL is towards the members.

Help requests is really the only way you'll get an answer. Best way is probably to address it to Athens if you don't feel you got the right response. Most mods don't check HQ often enough to address the problem.

Patrick was clearly joking. It was a dumb thread and he made a hilariously dumb remark. Depending on the member, I'm not sure it would always get warned.

But I didn't handle that report and I don't know why it wasn't given a point or reminder. If you'd like to reach the mod who processed it, I would send a help request.
