She has to be finished with the album, she said in that Today show thing that she was "taking her time, writing her new album" then said in that telephone interview the other day that she's "in the middle of it" or something along those lines. Writing the album isn't 'the middle of it". I don't think she's going to surprise release the album but I think everything will come quite quickly and this is all a way to make it a surprise.
