Did you pay your producer, cuz if you did, then have him sign a "Work For Hire" contract and have that be that. As far as the other other writer, split the writer's share between you guys and you make that publishing company I said and retain your publishing share and 50% of your writer's share and you're set.
You just need to put in a fixed tangible form like paper or a flash drive and send it in to the US copyright office with like $35.
