Jay-Z just had an album go platinum plus (1.8 million for The Blueprint 3 to be exact) just a minute ago. He hasn't released an album since 2009. Beyonce had a 3x Platinum album just recently. So, I'm not understanding where you're going with this.

This is coming off as sour grapes to some stans because their favorites are not selling as good as those artists. There is nothing 'abysmal' about a group of artists who can actually move album units in a dying music industry.

Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Jay-Z and a few others have done well in album sales, so hopefully this isn't a race-card thing. If that's the case, why Katy isn't moving as many albums as those listed? Those artists sell because people are interested in their music outside of a couple of hit singles. Race has little to do with anything.
