KP4 coming in 2017 would be a 4 year gap since Prism... I don't think Prism was a big enough era to take such a long break after (personally I think 4 years is too long for any artist).
I even thought the album coming in 2016 is too late.
Her sales will definitely suffer, but I hope her fanbase adapt to streaming and she can become a force on Spotify or Apple Music.
As long as she serves us some bops, I'm happy.
Rise's underperformance means that the album won't follow that boring path. We will have our bops! I agree with you that 4 years is way too long, she should've released her lead in January 2016 followed by the album in April.

This album is shaping up to be a dark, brooding, urban-influenced masterpiece. Poor those still wanting an album of WoAs. They died with EDIAH flopping.
