I think we can all agree that Bey’s albums are great in their own way…
Dangerously in Love
One word: Love
The songs on this album were about the stages of being in a relationship. It starts out with having a crush (“Baby Boy”), flirting with your crush (“Naughty Girl”), falling in love (“Dangerously in Love” and “Crazy in Love”), being in a relationship (“Be With You”), and ending it (“Me, Myself, and I”).
B’Day
One word: Confidence
She puts to music the confidence you feel when partying with friends (“Get Me Bodied” and “Freakum Dress”), when dealing with a relationship (“Upgrade U”, “Freakum Dress” (again), and “Suga Mama”), and when leaving an unfulfilling relationship (“Irreplaceable”, “Green Light”, and “Kitty Kat”).
I Am…Sasha Fierce
One word: Emotional (not necessarily in a negative sense)
Beyoncé invited us into her world with this album. She tells us that she’s a person who’s loves being in love (“Satellites”), but is a little wary when it comes to relationships (“Halo”). At the same time, she shows us that she isn’t afraid to break off a relationship (“If I Were a Boy”). Also, she’s worrisome (“Save the Hero”) and can be a little overemotional (“Disappear”).
On the Sasha Fierce side, she shows us how she feels when she’s in Sasha-mode. She is a bold woman that makes the first movie when flirting with a guy (“Video Phone” and “Ego”), likes to brag on herself (“Ego” (again) and “Diva”), or isn’t afraid to confront her partner (“Why Don’t You Love Me?” and “Single Ladies”). Despite her boundless confidence, she still has fears (“Scared of Lonely”).
