Well Nicki did release an album and lots of singles and lots of features and lots of promo and had lots of controversy.
So she did plenty(give her that credit)...it just didn't materialize in the same amount of success that it did for a taylor or the weeknd or ed sheeran.
then again, much like Lady gaga being the woman of the year (she did WAY LESS than Nicki and still got the title) it does help to show that the measurement of success is not the only factor if it is one at all.
