Both "Witness" and "Rise" are underwhelming - I expect more from queen of singles Miss Perry.
Well if that's the case I can't change your opinion but I truly think Witness has the potential to become a DH-sized hit (if not bigger). It's a masterpiece.
She should've followed Prism release schedule, lead single in August and VMAs and iheardradio performances plus all those awards shows in fall/winter to promote the album and second/third single.
Now we have nothing, Rise is pretty much done, NBC promo ain't working and it will take a miracle to enter Top 10 on Billboard. Not to mention it totally killed the lead single momentum.
The album is probably not even coming this year since her lazy ass is doing nothing.
After the Superbowl, she had whole 2015 and now 2016 to write and record 12 songs, is that really hard?? And the fact that she thinks she call afford 4 year breaks Especially today when the market is rapidly changing and the sales are declining every day. She'll get Kesha'D.
The worst thing is, we'll probably get another Prism quality wise album when KP4 drops.
I agree that she waited too long. And she miscalculated the sales market compared to streaming. The Apple Music exclusive was the worst idea ever, and if she does it again for the lead I'll be really pissed.
only totally delusional kats would think that this mid-tempo bore like Witness would do well
there's nothing interesting about that song and it goes nowhere, it's a song that Selena Gomez could release as a single but not a queen of #1s Katy Perry
Witness is risky, not generic. There's not a single song that captures its dark, sexy, dance, chill pop tones and it's insanely catchy and the instrumental is Dr. Luke perfection

I agree. "Witness" is cute but it's not queen of #1s LEAD single material.

Right I like Witness but Katy's slowest hit is like... Wide Awake, so yeah Witness would bomb
