Norah Jones - Come Away With Me - 22 million copies IRRELEVANT / NOT EVEN RICH AS KATY
Avril Lavigne - Let Go - 16 million copies IRRELEVANT / GETS BEAT UP BY FANS
Evanescence - Fallen - 15 million copies IRRELEVANT
Usher - Confessions - 15 million copies IRRELEVANT / POOR IHYPE
Dido - No Angel - 14 million copies IRRELEVANT
I could go on and on. Sales mean nothing in the long run. Branding is your key to longevity.

Then why do you have Beyonce sales as your member title?
Of course it ain't a 1:1 correlation, but there is obviously substantial overlap between the two, particularly for artists whose appeal is not concentrated primarily in older demographics.
Her appeal being concentrated in younger demographics doesn't mean she is impactful though, it's like arguing One Direction at their peak were impactful when they weren't, since no one cared except those girls. To have impact you need broad appeal across demographics and being a major figure in pop culture/the media helps also.
