Although there were some clever lines, this felt flat overall. Almost all of it, if not all, has been said and done. There's always a risk when using straightforward language that it will become basic and this was basic indeed. I get the vibe you were going for but it didn't suffice, not for a songwriting competition. "Scortese" was so out of place, where did the Italian come from? It felt especially random after such simplistic language beforehand.
I don't think there's any bias, otherwise I'm sure Jackson would have given me 0s, but I managed to get a #16 debut
But I do think the returning contestants have an advantage, quite often y'all reference their old work and their growth, that's something newbies don't have the luxury of, being compared to our older work or compared for growth.
You don't know **** about music. I'm not going to suck up to the judges like everyone else. I could write Bohemian Rhapsody and all you'd say is how 'forced' it sounds. Do better.
