I'm not denying the obstruction he faced, but it's his own fault for losing Congress and dozens of governorships and state legislatures to begin with.

Obama is a neoliberal in the eyes of millions of Americans. It's his policies that led to working folks leaving the party. His one job was to secure that coalition and be our FDR. Instead he wanted to be the Democrat's Reagan. If you don't know the difference, that's our problem right there. This is what Bernie and the others (Like TYT) warned us about.

He's a great man with a great heart, but he was not prepared to accomplish his most important goal. Just compare Bill Clinton's presidency with his and you can see the difference in approach to when losing Congress.

We were in a terrible shape even before the words "Hillary Clinton announces her candidacy for president of the United States" was reported in April 2015. Please stop it. He's in my top 5 favorite president, but as a leader he did a average job. His approval ratings only started to rise when it become clear who his successors would be.

Yeah, democrats need to be willing to say this more. He assembled and energized an incredible coalition of voters that he basically doesn't tap into at all during his presidency. He was still a fairly good president at the end of the day and I'll miss him dearly, personally, but he had all the tools at his disposal to be an incredible one. We really missed out.

Hillary banked on white women not the working class. She knew that was a lost cause after two dem terms and her not being that different from the Obama administration in the eyes of the people. White women could have easily won her the election.

Obama's and Democratic majority 2009-2010 biggest mistakes:

Not making Puerto Rico and especially D.C. states
Not tackling gun control
Not ensuring equal pay
Not engaging in 50 state strategy
Not passing comprehensive immigration reform.

Playing nice with Republicans even when he had a mandate in 2009. The stimulus package catered too much to corporations and gave too many tax cuts. Same with Obamacare. The initial intent of both were basically undermined. Same with banking/financial reform. Every reform was so half measured to please the GOP.

Bill's mistakes:
Sleeping with multiple women
Picking the uninspiring Al Gore as VP (ugh him and Hillary are so alike)
NAFTA
Putting Hillary in charge of health care reform
crime bill, welfare reform, etc.

Thing is most of these things for Bill were terrible policies that we didn't really see the effects of until years later. Obama's mistakes were simply missteps and missed opportunities that could've been avoided from day one. That's what makes this election cycle so sad. It should've never happened like it did.

American society tends to convince themselves that some woman is unlikable after building her up and then they try to build her down relentlessly. Happens too many times (Anne Hathaway, Amy Schumer, Iggy etc.) and it was Hillary's turn even though in 2010 and 2011 she has a higher favorability than Obama and Biden.

It's how we roll. Other nations don't care that much about likability.
