Fell asleep during the parade
Just caught up. Erm, the ending was definitely better than the beginning. I have to say that, overall, it was pretty bad. The feed was awful. I have a feeling if the feed was better, it would have been much more enjoyable. It was low-budget, but you could tell it was low-budget. I expected it to be more party like. Instead, it was pretty uncoordinated and a little bit of a mess at times. I respect the fact that they did a segment on climate change, I'm very happy about that.
Overall, it was one of the worst opening ceremonies. Brazil should have just played to their strengths and had one big carnival. Cliche? Yes. Fun and something no other country can do like Brazil? Yes.
