Stupid? Why? It's the real sales of the singles. Infact, Rude Boy is #9 on iTunes with combined versions, that's where it should be.

Anyway, I'm not worried about Alejandro. It'll be Top 5 after AI.

Yeah, but if Alejandro passes Rude Boy it would be Top 10 on iTunes, even though it technically would sell less. But it would still be in the actual Top 10 and be on the main page.

Definately, but then with Rude Boy out of the top 10 it should make it easier for Alejandro to overtake it as it won't be on the front page anymore.

Probably to capitalise on an extra day of sales. I never understood why most songs get released in America on a Tuesday when the sales tracking week begins the day before, it doesn't make sense, especially if you are hoping for number 1.
