It's a very simple mistake to think you have a duplicate account. I thought so too at first because the user responded to your post for some reason and made the same exact correction you made later. No one is cyber bullying you and no one is coming after you just because they disagree with you.

They actually train to not get distracted in school. It's like how you see those news anchors expertly ignoring jumping, screaming people behind them. They were just in the zone and I'm guessing the interviewee couldn't see because the camera man would have been blocking her line of sight.

If your IP isn't connected, they won't punish you.
