Madonna was successful with what she did, Janet ruined herself trying to do what Madonna did. And I believe Janet called Madonna out on being dirty back then, but yet she's been doing it with the last 3 albums. Desperate enough?
The reason why it was groundbreaking is because Madonna was known for her controversy before the sex book and all that.
