It won't be that easy on Pop... the fact they merged the Duo with Groups makes any collaboration even slightly pop being cut for the run and the POC hasn't been at all as successful as they expected it to, which makes the competition in the pop field less easy.
Rock cathegories and alternatives generally praise more the songs regardless their chart success, while collaborations in pop are generally a bit more chart driven (unless you don't have historical legends collaborating, like the Tony Bennet/deceased Amy last year or Grammy darling Robert Plant & Allison Krauss).
It won't be easy for Coldplay there... but we'll see
I think they are oogling more a rock album nod and the song, actually.
