Honestly, if rihanna had 4 number ones and her fifth was ONE position from breaking a record, only needing some kind of push, wouldn't you want her to do whatever they could?
Wanting to break the record a lot isn't an excuse for manipulating the charts. After all, why should she break it if she can't do it deservedly?
