Japoy's Best Of 2010 | Top 100 Songs (32-30)
32. Far Eastern Movement feat. The Cataracs, DEV “Like A G6”
“Poppin bottles in the ice, like a blizzard, when we drink we do it right gettin slizzard. Sippin sizzurp in my ride, like three 6. Now I’m feelin so fly like a G6...”
I can describe this song in two words, sick and infectious. Far Eastern Movement managed to score a smash club hit with the help from the vocals of The Cataracs and DEV. The catchy hook-up for Like A G6 is the highlight of this song which samples DEV's Booty Bounce. I just realized that this is so popular when it got released. It managed to hit the #1 spot in the Billboard Hot 100 and other charts worldwide. This is one of a good perfect party anthems and it is just deserving enough for me to include this in my list.
31. B.o.B feat. Bruno Mars “Nothin' On You”
“Beautiful girls all over the world, I could be chasing but my time would be wasted. They got nothin' on you baby, nothin' on you baby...”
The team up from rapper B.o.B and Bruno Mars appears in my list with one of the unforgettable tunes of 2010. Yes, Nothin' On You is the single that both introduced these two artists that had an amazing year. The chorus part done by Bruno Mars is what makes this so memorable, and I bet girls all girls fell in love with this song wishing the guys would sing this to them. B.o.B also nailed the verses of the song, both of them did an excellent blend of rap and pop for this song. Expect more songs from these two artists as we get near the top 20.
30. Shakira “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)”
“You're a good soldier choosing your battles, pick yourself up and dust yourself off and back in the saddle. You're on the frontline, everyone's watching. You know it's serious we're getting closer this isnt over.”
The official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup makes its way to #30, Shakira did an amazing song and Waka Waka will be remembered for the next four years. At first, I taught this will be just an ordinary song that won't be getting any attention but as the FIFA World Cup is still on, this song somehow got me dancing and singing whenever I hear it. Shakira is the perfect choice in singing this anthem, I mean with her powerful voice and great moves, she influenced a lot of listeners of the song to do the Waka Waka choreography. Let's hope four years from now, we get to hear another infectious anthem for the World Cup, and if it's Shakira that will be awesome!
