The more I listen to this album, the better it gets. It doesn't hit you right away like Overexposed did, but takes a little longer to sink it more like Hands All Over and Songs About Jane did, which is good. it's definitely very poppy with strong hooks and choruses, but there's also substance, and Adam's voice has never been stronger. He hasn't sung with this emotion and passion since SAJ, which is why I'm really loving this album right now.
I enjoyed "Maps", "Animals", "It Was Always You", "In Your Pocket", "New Love", "Coming Back For You", "Feelings", "My Heart Is Open" (Expected a bit more from a Gwen collab TBH, but she sounds great), "Shoot Love", "Sex and Candy", and "Lost Stars". Pretty solid album.
The music on this one definitely isn't as immediate as Overexposed. I'm actually starting to really love some of these tracks! Coming Back For You has been stuck in my head all day.
Spent the past couple of days listening to M5's older stuff again as well as V which was so unimpressive on my first listen. It has grown on me quite a bit, but it is still very meh.
The Gwen track is SO disappointing. Ugh.
Fave tracks: Animals, Sugar, and Feelings (idk)
Hands All Over > Songs About Jane > Overexposed > V > It Won't Be Soon Before Long
