I don't expect a big increase like Telephone, but something like that would be nice. hopefully the video will be good enough to push Alejandro VERY close to OMG and Airplanes

Yeah but Airplanes, California Gurls, OMG's and Billionaire lead is pretty strong, so it'll be hard to pass them with just a video.

I mean, it's a 3rd single from a top seller multi-platinum album. Expect it to help the album sales more the song itself performance on the charts, and just enjoy the single while it lasts.

Yeah people just buy the whole album instead of the single and it's good, but kinda unfair. "Telephone" and "Alejandro" would do so much better if not the album.

So California Gurls performance tonight, and isn't the video being released this week? GaGa won't hit #1, I doubt shell reach #2 either, Top 3 at a push.

Yes, it very well might!

The Billboard formula isn't very complicated at all. If a song was listened to an estimated 101,562,000 times, then the song gains 101.562 points. If that same song was downloaded 154,678 times, then the song gains 154.678 points. Its total points with just those two factors combined is 256.240. Billboard also has streaming points, but those are very little and we're not sure how those are really calculated. All we know is AOL and Yahoo! make up a big part of streaming points. Streaming points really do nothing for a song's position unless two songs are really close in points.

"California Gurls" needs to sell about 58,000 more copies digitally than "OMG" to get ahead of it, which would most likely place it at number one. It looks like that will happen, too!
