Who out of the monsters is going to explain the storyline ? Im sure theres no one 
Im just sad that no one actually pay their attention to haters now. The thing is, if you do not want to understand, then no one can make you.

I really do wish that someone would explain it though, because I want to understand. I wouldn't have asked otherwise. I want someone to help me see this video in a new light... but no one has done so yet or even made an attempt to.

I'll say what I know about the video but like all gaga videos its up for free interpretation and she doesn't like the concept to be to dissected so people can take the video to mean whatever it is they need it to mean for them personally.
Here's some quotes about the video concept/storyline from lady gaga herself ->
""I'm walking with no luggage and no nothing and it's just me and my ankles are bleeding a little bit and there's grass stuck in my shoes and I've got this outfit on and it's real sort of New York clothing and I'm sprinting... And the video is about the idea that when you're away from someone you love, it's torture. I knew I wanted the video to be about me sprinting back and walking hundreds of thousands of miles to get him back."
"That's how I wanted to open the video, because I think it really sets up the rest of the story. It allows you to imagine you yourself are not just one person; you're so many. That person has so many stories and memories to draw from, and they all affect your journey profusely. I'm battered quite brutally at the beginning of the video, but at the end, I'm not battered; I'm a bit strange. It's not meant to be an answer video; it's meant to be a profuse number of the question"
Before the video was released she tweeted something like "the more he trys to fix me the more magical I become" so as you can see in the video- the guy has her strapped to this machine and does all of these experiments to fix her and then she ends up a mermaid. The video seems to be about a guy who didn't accept her as herself and changed her/tried fixing her, and in the end she became something surreal. It's obviously about luc carl and how he sort of pushed her into this lady gaga persona- and now after the breakup shes running all the way back to Nebraska to be with him again. The video isn't that confusing and its not just a bunch of random BS- shes explained a good amount of the video.

What's really annoying is that this video gives us the quirkiness of "The Fame" era with her and Jo and the visuals of "The Fame Monster" with the barn scenes. This video is what EVERYONE was saying they wanted and some people still aren't happy. SMH.
Her best video. Period.

That awkward moment when the story line is not intricate.
Lol, this video is quite simple. What makes it seem complex is the it's edited. The corn field scenes are Gaga in a white nighty just dancing around and the road scenes are Gaga standing there. It's a simple video with a message that's not in your face.

From what I, personally, understand, the video is about how being away from someone you love is torture. I also believe there is a sub message that's quite personal to Gaga. The guy in the barn is trying to change her and morph her into his ideal woman, but the more he changes her, the more "magical" she becomes. He then realizes that no matter how much he tries to change her, she's never going to be his "ideal" woman, so he accepts her for who she is and loves her anyways.

I certainly appreciate someone finally explaining it! So, thank you ... I do appreciate your time writing this out. 
But let me get this straight, she is really missing this guy in the beginning of the video, which causes her to be battered (and apparently many people)? On the other hand though, this guy doesn't accept her for who she is, so he tries to change her? I guess that makes sense...
However, I have to agree with xdonna_fentyx on this one. She's really lost her direction, I think (<< keyword here ;-), and these "art videos" are really coming across as less "interpret how you will" and more as "here's a random video I threw together". Just my opinion though--take it with a grain of salt.

lol exactly- the video concept is easy to understand its a great message and makes sense and people are STILL gonna be pressed because the symbolism/imagery/concepts arent dumbed down. Its lady GAGA- the videos are gonna be GAGA!

I loved the bits when she was on the piano with her alter ego, or as we all know LUC. It fit the idea of the SONG. also, I loved when she was walking down the deserted path. Those are the only two scenes that I like from the whole video. This video could have been a smash if gaga would have stopped trying to make **** something that its not. I thought music videos were about accuratly potraying the song? You may think that the story line was brilliant, but I dont. It was also poorly edited. I just want gaga to sit down and think sometimes instead of trying to come up with masterpieces with deep and meaningful messages. A simple video with a good storyline would have had me sold. It's not that hard.
