Just going to comment on the three debuts this week.
First up is from
Owl City with
Fireflies, a track that has been quietly creeping up the U.S. Alternative airplay chart, while igniting a huge iTunes presence and building serious buzz. The track is very calm and easy-going with flimsy lyrics, but it's perfect for the Fall. Also new to the chart this week is
Default, a Canadian rock outfit who had a huge single way back,
Wasting My Time. Their new one is
All Over Me, and although it just missed the top 10 on the Canadian Alternative chart, it is a catchy enough rock track with a good bridge and chorus.
We've got a mega-consolidation track to round out the debuts as
Jay Z f/ Rihanna + Kanye West debuts with
Run This Town. It took a while to grow on me, but everyone at this point is routing for RiRi, and with "The Blueprint 3" on it's way out, the Jigga man himself has some momentum going. Here is the past chart history for these 3 superstars.
