And wait, how does ibiza fit the color? Not accusing, just generally wondering if I missed a deeper meaning of the song.
It literally is about what he dealt with being somewhat of a one-hit wonder. He made money off of Cooler Than Me and then couldn't get another big hit. He squandered his fame and made poor choices with his money. People proceeded to forget about him and he sunk into bad habits and depression. The first line of the song "I took a pill in Ibiza to show Avicii I was cool" just shows how desperate he got for someone to recognize him and appreciate him again. Honestly it still makes my heart hurt for him thinking about what he went through.
