I understand the disappointment. It's very annoying for us as players too given how stressful these rounds already are.
That's why I think there needs to be some sort of punishment for people who post the first false spoon (from here on out - it wouldn't be fair to punish Marvin since the threat of punishment wasn't in place yet). Now that you're posting the first spoon, there really is no excuse for someone to post spoon if neither you nor any other player has posted one yet. I don't think it should be an automatic disqualification, but maybe a significant disadvantage in the next round.
