No, various shows' actors esp recently have lied and said in interviews "yep I'm dead I'm not coming back."
And lo and behold, they come back and are alive.

Michelle Fairley also did those kinda interviews and people were reacting the same way that the producers told her to say those things that she was obviously coming back etc. I hope Jon Snow comes back but I don't think I will believe it until I see it.

Of course there is. His fate hasn't been revealed yet in the books and him saying "oh I'm coming back" would anger book readers greatly

stannis is definitely finished.

i liked the way they filmed it though, or at least chose not to show it. usually we're used to the 'satisfying' result of a severed head or a butchered corpse, but in stannis' case there was no closure. they deliberately chose not to give us that satisfaction because he was so resigned to his fate by that point and he had nothing to live for. by choosing not to show us that demonstrates how exhausted and defeatist he was by that point, his death was both inevitable and ultimately inconsequential.
